IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph
Moore
February 15, 1941 – September 19, 2021
Joseph Moore, son of the late Lizzie Pope Clemons and James L. Moore, was born in Americus, Georgia on February 15, 1941. He was raised under the guiding hand of Johnnie Clemons.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Hillsborough County School System in Tampa, Florida. Throughout school, he was a very inquisitive young man who garnered much from his educational experiences and developed valuable life skills that spilled over into adulthood.
Joseph was a very industrious man who worked hard to provide unconditionally for his family. He worked tirelessly for many years as a truck driver for Rio—always putting safety first. Because of his exceptional driving skills, he was recognized for his "accident-free" record of achievement. Rio Joe, as he was known by fellow truck drivers, developed strong bonds of friendship throughout his travels that will forever be cherished and remembered.
Often described as straight-forward, unpretentious, determined, and strong-willed, Joseph was also known as a kind, gentle man whose heart was filled with love, care, and compassion for those that he knew and encountered. He genuinely cherished every moment of his life and squandered nothing. He had a mind that never ceased questioning and a relentless determination to create a path to better opportunities. In his leisure time, he enjoyed listening to gospel music and completing word-search puzzles. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
Joseph departed this earthly life on September 19, 2021, at his home in Albany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Moore, Jr.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Lonnie Moore of Tampa, FL, Victor (Kareen) Moore of Panama City, FL, Eric Moore (Kaye) of Atlanta, GA, and Stephanie Moore Huey (Bobby) of Fayetteville, NC; siblings, Daisy Moore Jackson (Waddell) of Las Vega, NV, Mildred Clemons Schemiz (Dennis) of Atlanta, GA, Joanna Clemons Parson (Larry) of Atlanta, GA, Johnnie Mae Clemons Stephens of Albany, GA, and Johnny Lee Clemons, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
