Joshua Wilson McCray was born in Albany, Georgia on May 21, 1973. He was the son of Essie McCray and Douglas McCray. And his stepmom, Anna McCray.

He attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School where he participated in various school functions and activities. He continued his education at Tampa Community College and graduated with a degree in Business Management.

Having professed his faith in Christ Jesus, he united with the Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lorenzo L. Heard.

Joshua enjoyed being active and had many varied interests during his life. He regularly utilized his business management skills in his work as a Temporary Service Supervisor in Tampa, Florida. One of his most meaningful work experiences was his employment at Greater Second Mt. Olive for several years. While working there, he gained valuable knowledge and skills that enabled him to provide for his children. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

On Thursday, September 14, 2017, Joshua departed this earthly life in Tampa, Florida.

He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his memory, loving parents, Essie McCray and Douglas (Anna) McCray; six children, Joshua Mallory, Joshonda Jackson, Joshualin Hudson, Zachessus McCray, DJ Leroy, and Zakia McCray; seven grandchildren; seven siblings, Alfonya (Mary) McCray, Douglas McCray, Jr., Frank Lewis, Faustine McCray, Lula Justin, Joyce Anderson, and Carlesa Terrell; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; godbrothers, Corey Winbush and Derrick Winbush and their sisters; very special friends, Sammy Jackson, Rasheed Harrison, Reggie Adams, Pastor Lorenzo Heard, and Mike Atkins; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
