Obituary

Juanita Wynetta Porter, affectionately known as "Tootie", was born October 30, 1951 in Albany, Georgia to the late Everlene Porter Dublin and Milas Porter, Sr.

Juanita attended public schools of Dougherty County graduating from Monroe High School in 1970 and furthered her education at the Albany Technical College.  She volunteered and supported Monroe in various capacities as well as becoming a member of the Monroe Booster Club.

At an early age, Juanita accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Third Kiokee Missionary Baptist Church of Albany, GA where she remained a member until her death.

Juanita's work career at M&M Mars spanned thirty-three plus years where she excelled as a Senior Operator.  She retired from Mars in 2006.

"Designs by Juanita" showcased her passion and talent as a floral designer and decorator.  Many of her designs are displayed in homes and commercial establishments.   Her specialty of Easter and Mother's Day baskets were among some of the seasonal arrangements she produced.  She was especially proud of a highlight in her decorating career when she decorated her workplace for the Christmas holiday season receiving many accolades for its originality and beauty.

Juanita was deeply loved by her family and friends.  This love and affection was returned as she was often very present in the village for many of her nieces and nephews.  Of special significance was her mother-daughter like relationship and bond she shared with her niece Kimberly Porter Jones.  This bond expanded to Kimberly's husband, Michael Jones, who was as loyal as any son-in-law could be.

She departed this earthly life on September 15th, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, stepfather, Cleveland Dublin and brother, Carlton Porter.

Wonderful memories of Juanita will be cherished by her brother, Miles (Mary) Porter, Jr., a sister, Sweetie M. Porter of Albany, GA; three step-sisters, Juanita Hines of Albany, GA, Gladys (Herbert) Chambers and Eva (Louis) Chambers of Salisbury, NC; six nieces and nephews, Michael (Lisa) Porter, Monica (Frank) Lofton, Kimberly (Michael) Jones, Kwanteko Porter, Kris (LaShaundra) Porter, Crytstal Porter; nine great nieces and nephews, Avier Pyles, Hakeem Porter, Detravious Greene, Dalviness Greene, Nari Porter, Kuyi Porter, Makayla Porter,  Alyssa Lofton, and Kennedy Porter; one great-great nephew, Amil Porter; a special first cousin, Alberta (Kenny) Martin, cousins Geneva Johnson and Betty Sutton and many other relatives and sorrowing friends.
