IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita
Quimby
March 31, 1946 – November 18, 2022
Juanita Quimby was born in Baconton, Georgia on March 31, 1946. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eowna Weary and the late Hattie Ruth Quimby Williams.
She received her formal education in the Mitchell County School System, graduating from Camilla Consolidated High School in 1964. Throughout school, Juanita possessed a unique sense of tenacity and a thirst for self-improvement and knowledge.
In the late 60's, she relocated to Hartford, Connecticut where she was employed in various capacities until her health declined. Often during her career, Juanita was described by co-workers and employers as punctual, always prepared for business, jovial but sincere, and a very cooperative individual who was proud of her work record and accomplishments.
Upon moving back to Southwest Georgia in early 1990, Juanita made Albany her home. She united with the Church of Christ at Gaines Avenue and remained a strong prayer warrior and faithful servant until her demise.
Family was the joy of her life and she was a loving, dedicated mother who always had a calm voice of reason when it seemed that everything around was falling apart. She loved unconditionally and was happiest when surrounded by family and sharing in the good times. Known to have a caring spirit, Juanita was always willing to be of service. She was a trusted friend and confidant who stood ready to lend a listening ear or helping hand to those in need of compassion and support. To know her was to dearly love and cherish her.
On November 18, 2022, Juanita transitioned from this earthly realm to eternal rest and peace with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darryl Quimby; and five siblings, Roger Quimby, Robert Lee Sharp, Eowna Weary, Jr., William L. Quimby, and Janie Bessie Quimby.
Cherished memories will forever remain with her children, Lenita Quimby of Albany, GA, and Twanda Quimby Demetress (Dasmine) Quimby, and Quaintet Quimby all of Hartford, CT; siblings, Henry Quimby of Baconton, GA, and Julius (Diane) Williams and Ruth (John) Haynes both of Albany, GA; sister-in-law, Alice Toombs Quimbly of Augusta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
