IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julius
Bankston
June 23, 1970 – June 11, 2021
Julius Bankston, son of the late Elijah Bankston and Frances Bankston Carpenter, was born on June 23, 1970 in Albany, Georgia.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County Public School System, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School where he was active in numerous student organizations and events.
Having accepted Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior, Julius united with the Greater Second Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Lorenzo L. Heard. His life was undergirded by his strong belief in the power of God.
Although challenged by recurring health issues, Julius never gave up and he continued to press forward. His courage and strength helped everyone realize that every day was a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. His smile, thoughtfulness, and humble spirit will long be remembered by all who were so dear to him.
"Spam," as he was affectionately called by his family and close friends, enjoyed being active and had varied interests during his life. He was an avid music buff, often savored the beauty of nature, and delighted in spending quality time with family.
On Friday, June 11, 2021, Span's earthly journey ended and he transitioned from our midst to be with the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Julian Bankston (his twin), Jimmy Tift, and Jerry Tift; and two nephews, Jerry T. Bankston and Jose M. Bankston.
Though his earthly candle has been snuffed out, his flame will continue to burn in the hearts of his children, Tatinesha Cleveland and Narvez Warren; eight siblings, Janice (James) Borders, Jeronica Bankston, Jarvis Tift, Johnny Bankston, Jana Bankston, Jacqueline Bankston, Jane Bankston, and Jerome Bankston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
