Obituary

Julius Cannon Jr. was born on May 18, 1954 to the late Julius Cannon Sr. and Wilma Dean Ross-Cannon.  He was the oldest of two sons and grew up in Southeast Georgia where he received his formal education.

After graduating from high school, he relocated to Albany Georgia to attend Albany State University (ASU).  He obtained three college-level diplomas, two Bachelor degrees, and a Master's degree.  He was also an educator for nearly 20 years at Albany Technical College.

He served his country by serving in both the United States Airforce and Army for a total of eight years.

In 1972, he accepted the call into the ministry as Minister Cannon.  Later, he was ordained as Pastor Cannon and then founded the "Parakletos International Ministries" of Albany, Georgia.  In 2007, God elevated him to the office of Apostle and in 2014 his congregation moved to their new building.  Apostle Cannon had more than 45 years in ministry!

In July 1975, he met and married the late Leila Brown while attending ASU.  To this 39-year union, four children were born.  On January 5, 2018, Apostle Cannon married Overseer/Pastor Gloria Pollard who is a dynamic and highly anointed Pastor in her own right.  After their marriage, the two Pastors decided to combine their ministries into "Parakletos Faith in Action Ministries". In an effort to share the Gospel to those who were physically unable to attend church, they founded the "Church on Wheels Ministries" and "Beyond These Walls Ministries" to expand their outreach to the community.  They  served faithfully during their three years of marriage in these ministries until his hospitalization in December 2020.

Apostle Cannon loved archiving old videos and photos and creating beautiful documentaries that he shared on his YouTube channel.  He shared many inspirational links on his Facebook page as well.  He was multi-talented and more than anything – he wanted the world to know of his never- ending love for his "Gloria" that he affectionally referred to as his "Honey Bunch".

God saw fit to call him home to rest on Friday, January 8, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents (Julius and Wilma), his first wife (Leila) and a grandson (Jabriel Bellazer).

He leaves to cherish his memory: A loving and devoted wife - Pastor Gloria Pollard-Cannon; His four children: Nakil (Tonya) Cannon of Albany GA; Fayetta (Sammy) Sawyers of Richmond Hill GA; Adrian (Abreah) Cannon of Madison AL; Tenisha Cannon-Bellazer of Albany GA; Two stepchildren: Jermund Pollard of Atlanta GA and Rachel Pollard of Greenville, SC; One brother:  Michael Cannon of Atlanta GA; Four biological grandchildren (Samuel, Sammy III, Alima, Jabari), Five step-grandchildren and Six step-great grandchildren; Two God-daughters, (Contessia and Yolanda); three God-grandchildren, Quintarrius, Chakieriah, Sanaa; along with a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
