K. D. King, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia on February 19, 1962. He was the son of K. D. King, Sr. and the late Marthell King.

He attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School where he actively participated in numerous school functions and activities.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ira.  Their union stood the test of time and was blessed with loving children.  K. D. was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly in the construction industry to provide for his family.  He was a persistent, hardworking individual whose masonry skills were put to task throughout Southwest Georgia.  Over the years, he held fast to his belief that work is honorable and he took great pride in a job well done.

Husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend, K. D. was a very outgoing person who garnered much from his life experiences.  He took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends, and to savor the beauty of life.  He had an engaging personality, a gigantic heart, and a very welcoming spirit.  The strong bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will long be remembered and cherished.

On June 1, 2019, K. D. departed this earthly life and transitioned to his eternal home.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Alford.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Ira King; children, Shameka King (David Dillard), Dia Lisa Clark, Robin Clark, K. D. King III, Kelvin Thomas, and Keith Clark; siblings, Catherine Abrams, Sharon King, and Paula Janice Alford (Eugene Perry); 16 grandchildren; step-sisters and brothers; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
