IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kacy
Mitchell
April 18, 1974 – March 18, 2022
Kacy Mitchell was called home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2022.
Kacy was born to the late Jimmie Mitchell and Barbara Champion Mitchell on April 18, 1974 in Albany, Georgia. He is the fourth child of seven and leaves behind six siblings Karen, Koren, Kendall(Jenifer), Kelvin, Kelsie, and Kalvin and his beloved nieces and nephews: Ashley, Bianca, Amber, Kameron, Tykwon, Khori, Katlin, Jana, Khloe, Jalia, Khi, Logan, Kyler, Kaysyn, Mason, and extended family members that are not named. His death was preceded by his father Jimmie.
Kacy attended the Sumter County School System where he excelled in the gifted program and graduated as the Valedictorian of his class in 1992. He furthered his education as a Presidential Scholar at Albany State University where he majored in Chemistry.
After college, Kacy used his brilliance to teach and tutor our future generations in math and science for many years in public and private schools throughout the Dallas area. Kacy took pride in making a difference in his students' lives and building relationships outside the classroom.
Kacy held his relationship with God in high regards and consistently lived by the words of God with his ongoing acts of service within the community with his church and on his own accord. In 2002, he began his work as a missionary traveling to Guatemala and Honduras to share his love for Christ.
Kacy was always known as a free spirit and worldly possessions meant very little to him. He would enjoy traveling across the country to visit family and friends. In each city he visited, he would spend days with the people that he loved to ensure he connected on a personal level to know their goals, interest, and provide guidance when needed. Music brought him peace, he took his spotify playlist very seriously. He loved sports, particularly college football and basketball, his favorite teams being The North Carolina Tarheels and the Georgia Bulldogs. But the Atlanta Falcons would always hold a special place in his heart. At every gathering you could always find him in the kitchen creating the most delicious meals.
Kacy was known for and will be remembered by his loving heart and charitable spirit. His compassion and empathy has kept his family bonds strong. He made sure to let his loved ones know exactly what he felt for them whenever he was around. He formed intimate bonds with many whom he has crossed paths with and influenced those around him.
