K C Davis, "The Mechanic," was born April 9, 1958, in Fort Valley, Georgia. He was the son of the late Eddie Lee Davis, Sr. and Susie Mae Warren Davis.
He received his formal education in the Peach County School System where he excelled academically while developing many technical skills. Throughout school, he actively participated in numerous organizations and activities.
K C was united in marriage to Carmonetha Shannon who preceded him in death. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children.
In later years, he relocated to Albany, Georgia with his brothers, Albert and Eddie Jr., to start a new chapter in his life and take advantage of the varied opportunities available to him. Having accepted Christ as his personal Savior early in life, he later united with Zion Christian Fellowship Ministry International, Inc., under the leadership of Pastor Willie James Washington.
As a mechanic for innumerable years, K C labored tirelessly performing miracles on countless cars—many of which people had just written off as worthless. His expertise in the industry, workmanship, and professional ethics yielded him the reputation of being "top notch" in his field. He took great pride in his mechanical skills and found joy and solace in his lifelong passion until his health declined.
K C was a very kind and generous man whose warm smile, sense of humor, and encouraging words touched the lives of many people. Family and friends were among his greatest life's treasures and he never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with them. He was also a fashionable dresser who had a style and flair of his own. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.
On June 7, 2021, K C departed this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by three siblings, Eddie Lee Davis, Jr., Kenneth Davis, and Brenda Davis.
