IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kessha Sumbry
King
June 26, 1980 – April 14, 2024
Kessha Sumbry King was born on June 26, 1980, in Albany, GA, to the late Emma Lean Sumbry and Deacon Milton Lee Sumbry. She received her education in the Dougherty County School System. From an early age, she embraced Christ as her Lord and Savior and maintained a devout prayerful life.
Kessha diligently worked to provide for her family. As a devoted and loving mother, she also served as a supportive sister, readily assisting those in need. Kessha's affection was deeply cherished by her niece and nephews, with whom she maintained daily communication. Always willing to lend a helping hand, her spirit and encouraging words profoundly impacted many lives. Her radiant smile remains etched in the memories of those who held her dear.
On April 14, 2024, Kessha answered her Master's call to eternal life, peace, and rest. Preceding her in death are her parents and four siblings: Milton Lee Sumbry Jr., Willie Lee Sumbry, Walter Lee Sumbry, and Irish Sumbry. She is fondly remembered by her children, Carl King Jr. and Carlissia King, as well as her siblings: Geraldine Hampton, Chester (Sharon) Sumbry, Franklin (Angela) Sumbry, Eddie (Mary) Price, all of Albany, GA, Mesha (Torrence) Lawrence of Columbus, GA, and Valerie Mainer of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Saniyah Summerville, sisters-in-law Etha Sumbry and Lucy Sumbry, and a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews, including but not limited to Michael Sumbry, Corey Sumbry, and Monique Sumbry.
With a heart overflowing with generosity, Kessha exemplified selflessness in every aspect of her life. Whether it was lending a listening ear to a friend in need, offering words of encouragement during trying times, or extending a helping hand to strangers, her altruistic nature knew no bounds. Her acts of kindness were not merely gestures but a reflection of her deep-seated belief in her lord and savior.
As we reflect on Kessha's life, we are reminded that true greatness lies not in grand gestures but in the sincerity of one's heart and the depth of one's compassion. Kessha King's legacy of love and kindness will continue to illuminate the lives of all who were fortunate enough to bask in her radiant light.
