IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kisa Latonza
Mcclendon
November 13, 1964 – August 6, 2019
The journey of life for Kisa Latonza McClendon began in Albany, Georgia on November 13, 1964. She was one of twelve children born to the union of the late Iola and Lawrence Benjamin McClendon. At a very young age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School. While at Westover, she was actively involved in various school organizations and activities.
She later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she resided for over 30 years. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Sallywhite. Kisa was a very independent person who had an everlasting love for her children. Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for her family; who ensured that they were well-kept at all times; and who taught her children to be respectful, humble, and to love one another. For numerous years, Kisa was employed by Signature Healthcare in Marietta, Georgia. She was a devoted employee and worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was left undone.
Devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and loyal friend, Kisa was a very happy an kind-hearted person who was a joy to be around. She would always find the good in people and could make a friend anywhere she went. She was also a giver—always willing to give everything she had to put a smile on someone's face. Kisa had a spirit of sunshine, humor and laughter that could be felt by everyone around her. Family and friends were among her greatest joys and she delighted in spending quality time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
On August 6, 2019, Kisa was called to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Iola and Lawrence Benjamin McClendon.
Loving memories will be forever cherished by her devoted children, Quantavious McClendon, Andrew Johnson, and Maurice (Adrienne) Goode; grandchildren, Quantavious McClendon II, Keont é McClendon, Diamond McClendon, and Christopher Goode; siblings, Bobby (Linda) McClendon, Cynthia McClendon (Jeremiah), Velma (Tommy) Bell, Debra (Allen) Jones, Pamela (Thomas) Pace, Norris (Sophia) McClendon, Terrence (Jydasha) McClendon, Katrina McClendon (Nathan), Keith (Tracey) White, Kelvin (Theresa) White, and Takyna Reed; a special aunt, Ruby Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
