Kreg "Beddie Boy" Jenkins was born in Albany, Georgia on December 27, 1954. He was the son of Hazel and Robert Lewis Jenkins.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System and later studied carpentry at Albany Technical Collee.
At the age of 13, Kreg began working at the Albany Herald as a paper boy. His drive, ambition and determination landed him the job of District Supervisor which he held until 1984.
Kreg enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. He was an exceptional father and husband who was very kind hearted, helpful, and an encourager to others. Kreg had varied interests during his life, including hunting, fishing, and race car driving. As an avid fisherman, he won several bass fishing competitions and he also custom built his own race car.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jenkins; two brothers, John Jenkins and Richard Jenkins; and his godson, Adrian Lanier.
Kreg leaves precious memories that will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Alisha Faye Jenkins; his mother, Hazel B. Jenkins; children, Patricus Leggett, Kreg Jenkins, Jr., Robert Jenkins, and Tomeka Jenkins; stepchildren, Ashley Holbrook and Brian McClelland; siblings, Bill Bynum, Robert (Lawanda) Jenkins, Brenda (Roosevelt) Collins, and Vivian Fliggans; numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; very special friends, James and Patricia Williams; and countless cousins, extended family, and friends.
