IN LOVING MEMORY OF
L. C.
Shead
July 4, 1954 – September 10, 2024
L. C. Shead, beloved son of the late Crittie Shead Taylor, was born in Leesburg, Georgia on July 4, 1954. He was the seventh of nine children.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. Throughout school, L. C. was a lively, strong-willed young man who was always ready for adventure and actively participated in various school functions and activities.
From a very early age, L. C. was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. His strong faith in God kept him grounded and humble along life's journey.
Over the years, L. C. took great pride in the services that he provided with AAA Concrete of Albany. He was a very conscientious employee whose career was defined by hard work and unquestionable integrity. For more than 20 years, he worked untiringly to meet and maintain high quality standards until his retirement.
L. C. believed strongly in family ties and responsibilities, and he took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with them. Not only was he a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, but a loyal friend as well. His gentle spirit drew many to him and he could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor; could always find the silver lining in any situation; and he saw all people as important and worthy of friendship and compassion. Family and friends were paramount in his life and he loved them dearly. L. C. was also an avid sports fan who loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. Win or lose, the Cowboys and the Lakers were still his favorites and everyone watching a game with him definitely had to cheer them on! He will be remembered for his kindness to all people—family, friends, and strangers.
On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, L. C. transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his only child, Marquis Shead; and four siblings, Dora Hayes, Obidine Jenkins, Charlie Shead, and William Shead.
Cherished memories will forever remain with his siblings, Ophelia Guest, Eddie (Flora) Shead, David Lee Shead, and Willie D. Shead; grandchildren, Armani Shead, Marquesia Shead, and Amonte Harmon; nieces and nephews, Obidina Shead Johnson, Ophelia Moore, Melinda (Micah) Quarles, Jerome Haynes, Shelia (Derick) Robinson, Terry Guest, Kenny Guest, Tommie Myers, Otis Thornton, Marquetta (Kelvin) Harvey, Kevin (Paulette) Brown, Jason Brown, Antowain Shead, and Deandres Shead; a very special friend, Dorothy Last Name; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
