Obituary

Latressa Angelita Hudson Collins was born August 11, 1972, in Albany, Georgia.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Willie Don Hudson, Sr. and Hannah Doris Pinkney Hudson.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School in 1989.  Throughout school, she was a vibrant, inquisitive student who demonstrated exceptional potential and excelled academically.  Following in her mother's footsteps, she continued her education at Albany State University, majored in English, and took advantage of every opportunity to grow and excel.

At a very early age, Latressa accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a faithful servant and her love for Christ was manifested in her daily walk, deeds, and actions.

Latressa was a conscientious, independent individual with an everlasting love for her children.  Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, persistent mother who worked untiringly to provide for her family.  Over the years, she taught her children the value of hard work while engaged in very diverse yet rewarding work experiences at Harambe Daycare, T's Tiny Tots, Phoebe Putney Hospital, SOWEGA Council on Aging, CiCi's, and Church's.  No matter what task was placed before her, Latressa took great pride in her work and always gave her very best!

Not only was Latressa a loyal employee and a devoted mother, she was a loving and patient wife as well.  She was united in marriage to Reginald Kris Collins who totally captivated her heart.   They shared a love that was strong and a devotion to one another that was unshakeable.  Her diligence in caring for her husband and children was the personification of a Proverbs 31 Woman, "A wife of noble character whose worth was far above rubies.  Her husband had full confidence in her and lacked for nothing.  She did him good all the days of his life.  Her children rose up and called her blessed."   Latressa was a strong but gentle woman with a heart of gold, a trusted friend and confidant, and a servant who stood ready to lend a helping hand.  She will be remembered for her spirit of kindness and sunshine.

On April 28, 2021, Latressa answered the Master's call to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Willie Don Hudson, Jr. and Michael Casus Hudson.

Loving memories will forever remain with her beloved husband, Reginald Kris Collins; her children, Joshualine J. Hudson and Nelson Crawford, Jr. of Albany, GA, and Anfemee Jamal Hudson of Kileen, TX; siblings, Deborah J. (Winston) Robertson of Miramar, FL, and Jerome G. Hudson and Marty L.
