Leo S. Edwards, son of the late L. H. Davis and Marie Edwards, was born in Thomas County, Georgia on May 25, 1949.

He received his formal education in the Thomas County School System and was actively involved in numerous organizations, activities and sporting events.

Shortly after graduation, Leo enlisted in the United States Army where he served with distinction. During his military career, he was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations as he advanced through the ranks. He was a soldier to the core and the discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him . At the close of his tour of duty , he was honorably discharged and returned home to civilian life.

Leo wasn't only a brave and loyal soldier , but a loving husband and father as well. He was profoundly devoted to his family and friends, loved the people in his life with heartfelt sincerity, and was always willing to lend a helping hand . He will be deeply missed by family and friends who dearly loved him.

On May 12, 2020, Leo's earthly journey ended as he entered into eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Sheddrick Jenkins; and his sister, Trina Brown.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Estella Edwards o f Pelham , GA ; his childre n , Loretha (Reginald ) Drigg of Atlanta , G A , Yolanda ( MacArthur ) Jackson and Anthony ( Kishanne ) Digbie both of Albany, GA; Shanetha (Troy) Davis of South Carolina, Rodderick ( Charlene ) Jenkins of Meig s , GA , and Otis Digbie and Emmitta (Shontia) Clark both of Pelham, GA; seven siblings, Katy Ann (Cornelius) Woodard of Collee Park, GA, Sue Ann Davis, Harry Davis, Larry Davis, and Donnelle (Venetra) Edwards all of Meigs, GA, Kenneth (Ophelia) Davis of Pelham, GA, and Ira (Jauroline) Edwards of Goodrich, MI; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
