Leo Joseph Payment Jr., age 67, passed away on April 30, 2024, in Albany, Georgia.

Leo was born on March 7, 1957 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Leo and Betty (Bottrell) Payment. Leo was a proud retired veteran of the United States Army where he dedicated over 20 years of his life serving this country.  He was also a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He enjoyed cooking, wood working, tinkering with cars, and most of all helping others within his community.

Leo is survived by his children: Daniel (Karen) Payment and Tonya Maerker; his grandchild: Sarah Maerker.  Leo is also survived by his siblings: Jack Payment, Carol Starnes, JoAnn Mason, and Pat (Gene) Latour.  Leo also recognized Zavious (Courtney) Wade and Melvin Keith Smith as his brothers.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Cindy Payment, Franny Prater, and Glenn Payment.

Celebration of Life events will be held on May 18, 2024 with Oakridge Estates Mobile Home Community in Albany, Georgia.
