Leon Sutton life began on October 18, 1937 in Pelham, GA.  He was the beloved son of the late Charlie Lee Sutton and Mary Gaines Sutton.

He was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pelham GA where he served faithfully as an usher until his health began to fail.  He received his education in the Mitchel County School System in Pelham, GA.

He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Elizabeth Mitchell.  They shared over two decades of love before she departed this life.

Leon was a very conscientious individual who was no stranger to hard work.  He worked for many years at Tyson Foods where he retired from in 2009.

He transitioned from his earthly home on Wednesday November 19, 2024.  Leon was preceded in death by his parents; Charlie Lee Sutton and Mary Gaines Sutton, his beloved wife Elizabeth Mitchell Sutton and his son David Sutton

He leaves to cherish his memories, five children; Ester Sutton of Augusta, GA, Eva Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA, Tyrone Sutton (Angela) of Albany, GA and Taurus Sutton (LaShay) of Albany, GA. Twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two special cousins Patricia Wilkins and Belinda Mitchell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
