Obituary

Lillian Yvette Whitlock was born in Albany, Georgia on June 19, 1967. She was the youngest daughter of Willie Whitlock, Sr. and Lillian N. Whitlock.

She attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty High School where she graduated in the class of 1985. While at Dougherty, she was an outstanding athlete and received numerous awards throughout her school years. In 1985, she was named Most Valuable Player for the Lady Trojans Varsity Basketball Team.

From a very early age, Lillian was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. For numerous years, she was a faithful member of the Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She later united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she continued her Christian walk until her demise.

Family was paramount in Lillian's life. Her daily mission was to care for the needs of her parents whom she loved dearly. Although she didn't have children of her own, many nieces and nephews were the benefactors of her love, guidance, wisdom, and strength. She took great pride in being the "midwife" of the family and being present at the delivery of her nieces and nephews. Often described as an outspoken, energetic, fun-loving and caring individual, Lillian lived life to the fullest and truly enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

On December 26, 2018, Lillian answered the Master's call to eternal rest. Although our hearts are heavy and our sorrow deep, we were so blessed to have shared her life. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Cheryl Bridges, William Whitlock, and Rendall Whitlock.

She leaves to mourn her death and cherish fond memories her loving parents, Lillian and Willie Whitlock, Sr.; her beloved pet, Sheila; nine siblings, Willie (Zethalyn) Whitlock, Jr., Roderick (Patricia) Whitlock, Anthony (Carolyn) Whitlock, Kenneth Whitlock, Cartier (Wendy) Whitlock, Pamela McCray, Christina Folk, Valerie Whitlock, and Reverend Rhonda (Harold) Daigs; aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
