Obituary

Time to Be Born: Lillie Bell Porter Holsey, daughter o the late Ozell and Lessie Kleckley Porter, began her season of life on May 26, 1937, in Lee County, Georgia.

A Time to Learn: During the early years of her life, she received her formal education at the Chokee School in Lee County.

A Time to Serve: Lillie had the great advantage of growing up in a home in which the Lord was feared and revered. At a very young age, she gave her life to Christ and united with the Phillip Grove Baptist Church. In later years, she continued her Christian walk at the New Piney Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. Strong in faith, in character, and in wisdom, Mrs. Holsey gave ear to the "Macedonia call of Paul" and united with the Greater Zion Hope Holiness Church under the leadership of her son, Apostle Henry L. Holsey. Over the years she was a dedicated member and served faithfully as Mother of the Church. Mother Holsey was a "Titus II Woman". She was a molder, a shaper, a teacher, a counselor, and a builder of young women and mothers. She stayed on the battlefield until her health failed.

A Time to Love: She was united in holy matrimony to Henry Holsey. Their union endured through the years and was blessed with children whom they taught to love the Lord, to be humble and respectful, and to stick together through the trials and triumphs of life.

A Time to Work: Mother Holsey looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness. For more than 30 years, she labored untiringly at Lee County Manufacturing; was an employee of Lee County Primary for numerous years; and worked as a housekeeper for the Bland family.

A time to Rest: On Monday, May 14, 2018, Mother Holsey answered the Master's call to come home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Holsey; four children, Harry Holsey, Regina Holsey, Calvin, Holsey, and Clifford Holsey; three siblings, Sally Cole, Ora Smith, Betty Covin, and Mary Porter.

A Time to Mourn: Left to mourn her passing and cherish fond memories are her children, Apostle Henry L. (Prophetess Mary) Holsey, Delores (Joe) Lewis, Johnnie (Evangelist Dr. Deane) Holsey, Winfred Holsey, Brenda (Lonnie Jr.) Wright, Willie (Pamela) Holsey, Shon (Chiquita) Holsey, and Connie Peterson; 30 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
