IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lillie Pearl
Reese
March 16, 1940 – May 2, 2017
Lillie Pearl Reese, daughter of the late O. W. Flewellen and Mattie Lee Stuckey-Flewellen, was born in Worth County, Georgia on March 16, 1940. She received her formal education in the public schools of Worth County .
At a very early age, Lillie Pearl began her journey with the Lord at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Lockett Walker. She was blessed with the gift of song and utilized her God-given talent as a faithful member of the Senior Choir. She loved praising God and many rejoiced as she melodiously ministered in song. Lillie Pearl was a woman who feared the Lord, a woman of prayer and faith, and a woman whose life was a blessing to many people.
She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved Henry Reese with whom she spent many happy years. Lillie Pearl diligently cared for the needs of her family through her employment at Pippins Pecan Company, and as an exceptionally gifted and meticulous seamstress for many years.
In life, Lillie Pearl considered her family and friends to be among her most prized blessings, and delighted in bringing them together for various gatherings and functions. Her heart was full of love, compassion, praise, and adoration. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
On Tuesday, May 2, 2017, she quietly transitioned to her eternal home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Reese; and her daughter, Gloria J. McFarland.
Lillie Pearl was dearly loved and her memory will forever be cherished by her son Quincey (Vickie) Flewellen; seven siblings, Minnie Young, Mae Teemer, Louvenia (Earnest) Bryant, Edward (Carolyn) Flewellen, James (Shirley) Flewellen, Aaron (Florine) Flewellen, and Adolph (Patricia) Flewellen; two grandchildren, Alicia Flewellen and Diamonte McFarland; three great grandchildren, Makiyan Johnson, Zhyan Flewellen, and Jordan Bailey; son-in-law, Elvis McFarland; aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
When God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
He put his arms around you and whispered come to me.
He didn't like what you went through, and he gave you rest,
His garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from pain,
We wouldn't wish you back to suffer that again..
Today we say goodbye and as you take your final rest,
That garden must be beautiful...because you are one of the best.
