Obituary

Linda Marie Henderson was born in Albany, Georgia on  July 13, 1964.  She was the oldest daughter of the late Walter James Young and Lessie Lee Henderson.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System.  Throughout school, Linda was a very considerate, attentive young lady with a yearning to be of service and help others.  Extremely passionate about providing care and assistance, she continued her education and completed the requirements to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Very early in life, Linda accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Greater Second Mount Olive Baptist Church.  In later years, she continued her Christian journey at Evangelistic Temple of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Melvinia Loving and the late Bishop Dr. Daniel Loving.  Upon moving to South Albany, Linda united with Church of the Living Word where she served faithfully in numerous capacities. Her spiritual foundation and faith in God made her resilient and enabled her to live a life full of meaning and purpose.

Linda believed strongly in family ties and responsibilities.  After the demise of her mother, she readily accepted the role of caretaker of her elderly grandmother and surrogate mother for her five younger siblings.  She was a selfless individual whose heart was filled with compassion and love.  Family was paramount in her life and she always looked forward to events that brought them together—attending church, large family gatherings, or just a simple afternoon of sitting on the porch laughing and enjoying each other.  She found the beauty in all things; the good in everyone; and she created lasting memories that will long be remembered .

A very loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Linda looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness.  For many years, she was a loyal, dedicated employee at Albany Health Care.  No matter what the task, she worked untiringly to ensure that she provided the utmost care for her patients.  She had a natural gift for serving and making a difference in the lives of many.  In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, dancing, singing, and thrift shopping.  She also had a fondness for bright colors, nature, and beautiful flowers.

On March 26, 2025, Linda transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal resting place.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roosevelt Daniel; and two siblings, Michael Henderson and Sabrina Stephens.

She leaves a lifetime of love and memories that will forever be cherished by her daughters, Shekila A. Daniel and Erica N. Henderson; grandchildren, Ke'Asia Daniel, De'Marjai McDonald, Toriana Henderson, Ke'Marques Daniel, Kanijah Daniel, Miracle Daniel, Sincere Bigham, and Sevyn Henderson; great grandchildren, Amari Henderson, Amiyah Henderson, Kingston Daniel, Davina McDonald, and Armani Henderson; her brother, Jimmy Young; a special cousin, Lorraine Clyde; sister-in-law, Betty Perry; brothers-in-law, Willie Stephens, Jr., Willie Daniel, Walter Daniel, Lenny Perry, and John Henry Daniel; two best friends/sisters, Marsha Turney and Genever Peterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
