Liza Pearl Kimbrough, daughter of the late Geneva S. and Jim L. Smith, was born on May 2, 1941, in Mitchell County.

She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church of Hopeful, Georgia.

On October 13, 1956, she was united in holy matrimony to her beloved Willie Lee Kimbrough. This union was blessed with three children—Jimmy Lee, Willie Pearl, and Bobby Jerome. As a wife, mother, and homemaker, she was diligent in caring for the needs of her family.

Liza had many passions in her life and was always busy pursuing them. She was an exceptional cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Her "green thumb" was evident, for she could often be found outdoors tending her flowers and plants. But her greatest delight was being a grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were her pride and joy.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, Liza peacefully entered into eternal rest at Pruitt Healthcare. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Lee Kimbrough.; and her brother, John L. Smith.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her life and memories three children, Jimmy Lee Kimbrough of Thomasville, GA, Willie Perl Kimbrough of Baconton, GA, and Bobby Jerome Kimbrough of Unadilla, GA; four siblings, Rubie Lee Ross, William (Bernice) Smith, and Robert Lee Smith all of Camilla, GA, and Juanita S. Carter of Albany, GA; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren; a special friend, Michelle Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
