Lucious Brown,

March 13, 1942 – November 16, 2021
Lucius Brown, Jr., beloved son of Mary Jenkins Brown and the late Lucius Brown, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on March 13, 1042.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. Throughout his school years, he was actively involved in various student activities and events.
Ready to serve his country after graduation, Lucius enlisted in the United States Army where he became a "soldier to the core." The military suited his sense of order and his code of loyalty and he was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations. Having served his country with distinction as he advanced through the ranks, he received an honorable discharge at the close of his twelve-year tour of duty. Upon returning to civilian life, Lucius joined the ranks of employees with the City of Albany, working untiringly for eleven years. Afterwards, he relocated to Tampa, Florida and accepted employment as a Data Analyst with the VA Hospital. Lucius was a committed employee whose work was defined by unquestionable integrity and high expectations. He retired after rendering years of loyal and dedicated service.
Lucius was a good-hearted, humble man who was profoundly devoted to his family and friends. He was a loving son, devoted father, nurturing grandfather, incredible brother, supportive uncle, cherished cousin, and unforgettable friend who touched the lives of people around him in a very special way. He will be remembered for his strong voice of reason, unconditional love, and generous spirit.
On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, Lucius transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Minnie Jenkins; and two sisters, Minnie Mae Brown and Rosa Lee Gardner.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his mother, Mary Brown of Atlanta, GA; his children, Jacqueline Price and Shannon Smith of Albany, GA; stepchildren, Diane Morman and Tenley Thomas of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Samquithera Gaines, Brittiany Price, Palyce Milledge, and Deshawn Smith; great grandchildren, Mariyah James, Travonte Harris, and Taraji Harris; siblings, Annette Grooms, Brenda Carter, Henry Brown, and Willie Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends
