Obituary

Mable L. Sweet was born in Baker County, Georgia on April 5, 1948.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Simon Roberts and Bessie Lane Roberts.

She received her formal education in the Baker County School System.  Throughout her school years, Mable was active in numerous student organizations and activities, and her exuberant personality made her a favorite among peers, teachers, and close friends.

Mable began her fellowship with Christ at a very young age.  She was a member of Church of Christ at Gaines Avenue.  Her strong belief and faith in God made her resilient and enabled her to live a life full of meaning and purpose.

An altruistic mother whose hands were never idle, Mable worked hard to consistently pursue excellence in her home; always giving her best to her children who held the key to her heart.  Not only was she a meticulous homemaker, but a great provider for her family as well.  While employed as a packer with Piedmont Plant Company for innumerable years, she never shied away from hard work; constantly exceeded company standards and goals; and always gave her best—no matter what the task.  Mable was a loyal, dedicated employee who rendered outstanding service throughout her employment.

Often described as a free-spirited individual, Mable was extremely straight-forward, unpretentious, and strong-willed.   She had the unique ability to turn an ordinary day into an adventure, a chore into an activity, and a boring evening into an unforgettable memory.  When in her presence, there was never a dull moment.  She noticed the beauty in all things, the good in everyone, and no one was ever considered a stranger.  Mable had a glowing personality that would lift your spirits and brighten your day.   To know her was to dearly love her!  In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, listening to the blues, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her dearly.

On September XX, 2024, Mable transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Robinson; and five siblings, Johnny Roberts, Sam Roberts, Simon Roberts, Sylvester Roberts, and Ruby Anderson.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters, Tammy (Harold) Rumble of Atlanta, and Vickie Taylor and Stacey (Dan) Taylor both of Albany, GA; siblings, Bessie Nichols, David Roberts, and Danny Roberts; grandchildren, Lavonder, LaToya, Tamara, Anthony, Jerry, Keisha, Damario, Danisha, Deeria, and Santanna; numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
