IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mae Willie
Wright
December 22, 1928 – February 19, 2024
The season of life for Mae Willie Wright began in Newton, Georgia on December 22, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Pearl Morris.
She received her formal education in the public schools of Baker County. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Through every season, she remained prayerful and humble; always giving God the glory for the many blessings in her life.
Mae was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Charlie Wright. Together, they created a life filled with hard work, laughter and warmth. Mae Willie was the epitome of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and meticulous homemaker. She took her role seriously and invested much time and skill in caring for her home and her family. Whether needing advice, a listening ear, or casual conversation, they knew that she was always available to hear them out. Oftentimes, she sacrificed her needs for the good of her family and showered them daily with unconditional love.
A genuinely kind and selfless individual, Mae lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 95; and left an enduring legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, and dedication that she shared with family and friends. The strong bonds of friendship that she cultivated through the years will always be cherished and remembered.
On Monday, February 19, 2024, Mae transitioned from this earthly season at her home in Albany, to eternal peace and rest. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by four children, Linda Thomas, Bobby Thomas, Johnny Wright, and Charlie Wright; siblings, Doreatha Morris, Vernon Morris, Ira Morris, Jim Morris, John Morris, and Vera Morris; and two grandchildren, Demarcus Wright and Kiana Wright.
Loving memories will forever remain with her children, Deloise (Bobby Sr.) Wright, Walter Wright, Robert (Lucille) Wright, Silas Thomas, Bruce (Beatrice) Thomas, and Artist (Barbara) Thomas all of Albany, GA; siblings, Primas Morris of South Carolina, Kevin Morris of Boston, MA, and Irene Maynor of Albany, GA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
