IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maebell Jordan
Adams
March 28, 1941 – October 26, 2024
Maebell Jordan Adams, beloved daughter of the late John Merrell, Jr. and Girlie Mae Mairel, was born in Arlington, Georgia on March 28, 1941.
She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Calhoun County School System. Her out-going personality and beautiful inner strength made her a favorite among teachers, peers, and close friends.
Maebell was a very conscientious, persistent individual who gave her very best in all that she did. Upon moving to Albany, Georgia, she joined the ranks of employees at Bob's Candy Company. For many years, she worked diligently to meet or exceed company goals and standards. She later relocated to Chicago, Illinois where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Illinois Masonic Hospital. During her 30-year tenure, she provided traction device services alongside the Chicago Bears orthopedic physicians. Maebell was proud of the service she provided and worked diligently to ensure that her patients received quality, compassionate care.
After retirement, Maebell moved to Columbus, Georgia. There, she united with the Southside Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully in numerous capacities. She dearly loved the Lord, which was reflected in her devotion to her family and her willingness to give to those in need. Maebell always had a smile on her face and the joy of the Lord in her heart.
On October 26, 2024, Eloise transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest with the Lord. She was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Adams; two sons, Brady Mairel and Adam Roseman; and her siblings, Beulah McCoy, Ann Malone, John Henry Merrell, Jr., and Dan Mairel.
Loving memories will forever remain with her children, Virginia (Darren) Jackson and Fredrena Jordan of Sylvester, GA, Abigail Jordan of Merrillville, IN, and Albert (Beverly) Jordan of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Elisha, Tiffany, Dominique, Monique, Angelique, Kathryn, Diamond, Cetera, Lamont (Maribel), Demetrius, and Darren Jr.; nine great grandchildren; a lifelong friend, Sally Leary of Gary, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
