Obituary

Margie Lee Collier Lofton was born in Albany, Georgia on November 17, 1939.  She was one of twelve children born to the union of Henry and Mamie Collier.

She attended the public schools of Dougherty County and was actively involved in various school activities.  Early in life, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.

She was united in marriage to Willie James Lofton.  As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Margie was constant in her efforts to care for the needs of her family; unwavering in her dedication to foster a home filled with love and joy; and  diligent in her actions to conquer any task that was placed before her.   Family was paramount in Margie's life and her commitment to them was the cornerstone of who she was.

Margie was a very happy and kindhearted person.  She would always find the good in people and could make a friend wherever she went.  She was also a giver—always willing to give everything she had to put a smile on someone's face, especially her grandchildren who held the key to her heart.  Margie's life was full of interesting experiences.  She had a spirit of sunshine that could be felt by all who encountered her. She was a phenomenal mother, an  extraordinary grandmother and great grandmother, a wonderful sister and aunt, a loving cousin, and an unforgettable friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

On Friday, August 30, 2019, Margie's earthly journey ended when she answered the Master's call to come home.  In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Lofton; her only son, Rabon Donnell Collier; and ten siblings.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her fond memories, her loving sister, Evelyn Adams; grandchildren, Steve Jackson, Michael Jackson, Derick Collier, Raydon Jackson, Jamie Collier, and Nicholas Collier; twenty-five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends; and two very special caregivers, Lillian Upshaw and Ms. Chandora.
