Obituary

The journey of life for Margie Ree Favors began on July 17, 1942, in Sasser, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lillian Jones.

She received her primary and secondary education in the Terrell County School System, graduating from Carver High School. Throughout her educational journey, Margie was a very motivated young woman who took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow while actively participating in various school functions and activities.

Very early in life, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a dedicated member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she faithfully availed herself in service as a Deaconess, Usher, and a member of the General Mission.

She was a strong, God-fearing woman who never ceased to tell of God's goodness and she stayed on the battlefield until the end.

She was united in holy matrimony to Reverend Billie Favors. Their union endured for 48 years and they were blessed with a loving and caring family. Ms. Margie and Mother Favors, as she was endearingly called by many, was unwavering in her dedication foster a Christian home filled with love, joy, and strong values. Sharing time with family was paramount in her life. Her diligence in caring for her husband and children was the personification of a Proverbs 31 Woman, "A wife of noble character whose worth was far above rubies. Her husband had full confidence in her and lacked for nothing. She did him good all the days of his life. Her children rose up and called her blessed."

Devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring sister, nurturing aunt, and constant friend, Ms. Margie was a genuinely good-hearted, humble individual who greeted each day with a smile and a positive attitude. She had a kind heart, a very generous spirit, and took great pride in using her God-given talents to help others. Oftentimes in her daily walk, she could be heard sharing her favorite saying, "Thank you for your time and patience, but most of all your understanding." Ms. Margie was an excellent cook and loved baking cakes for family and friends to enjoy.
