IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marie
Holloman
February 12, 1942 – October 25, 2019
The season of life for Mrs. Marie Holloman began on February 12 th , 1942, in Leesburg, Georgia. She was born to the late Mrs. Willie Pearl Brookins and Mr. Douglas Murphy.
During the early years of her life, she was educated in the Lee County School System. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Marie was the oldest of ten children. She moved to Albany, Georgia in her early adulthood. Due to the passing of her mother at a very young age she eagerly then assumed the role of rearing her younger siblings that were still minors along with her own son. Marie often said that rearing her younger siblings was one of her greatest honors to do on behalf of her beloved mother.
Later in her adulthood, she joined Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where she worked in the Kitchen Ministry and served as a Deaconess until her health declined. She met and married the love of her life, Mr. Jessie D. Holloman, on December 17, 1989. Together, they fostered dozens of kids in their home over the span of 12 years.
Mrs. Holloman was a beautiful lady of great humility, integrity, and unparalleled kindness who always had a ready smile and helping hand. She was an outgoing, loving, and compassionate woman of God whose love for Christ was demonstrated in the way she loved her family, friends, and even strangers. She loved people and she touched so many lives during her time here on earth.
On October 25, 2019, her earthly season ended, and she was called home to be with our Lord. In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Jesse D. Holloman; and three siblings, J.W. Brookins, Sammie Brookins and Beatrice Hawkins.
Left to mourn her passing and to cherish fond memories are her sons, Larry (Pearl) Brookins of Denver, Colorado and Terry Lee Royal of Albany, Georgia; her daughters, Larvetta (Todd) Mims, Shayla (Antwan) Henderson, and Adrienne Holloman all of Albany, Georgia; six loving grandchildren, Michael and Larry Brookins Jr., Todd and Makyia Mims, Braylen Bogan, and Mckynzie Henderson; six siblings, Aaron Brookins, Pastor Charles (Gwendolyn) Brookins, Emma Jean McDowell, Elizabeth Jefferson, Pearline Moses, and Apostle Polly Fleming; one aunt; Pastor Annie-Bell Reddick; a god daughter; Rosalyn (Chino) Mendez; a god sister, Teresa Taylor; her best friend/sister, Ms. Jamesetta Harvey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends .
