Obituary

Mark Brown, son of the late Lucilla Wallace, was born in Albany, Georgia on March 17, 1961.

He was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 1979. Throughout school, Mark was an inquisitive, strong-willed young man who garnered much from his educational experiences and was always ready for adventure.

Mark's work ethics developed early as he engaged in a very diverse professional career. After graduating from high school, he began his work experience at Storer Cable where he quickly advanced from a cable installer to supervisor and worked in that capacity for numerous years. Later, he was employed as a car salesman with Carl Gregory Automotive Dealership where he became one of the top salesmen and was well known throughout the community and the automotive industry. While his work with each of these companies proved to be rewarding, Mark had a deep longing to pursue his dream of becoming a successful business owner and professional painter. Subsequently, he relocated to Louisiana where he launched a thriving painting business dedicated to his client's needs. He later relocated to Albany and continued his business which garnered him the title of "top notch" in his field. He took great pride in his skills and worked diligently to ensure that his work was flawless.

Fondly known as "Bigg Mark" by friends and family, he was a loving husband, devoted father, caring nephew, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend who embraced life with open arms. He took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with family and he nurtured relationships with people that remain to this day his life-long friends. In his leisure, he enjoyed grilling, fishing, football and tailgating, talking trash, and lending a helping hand throughout the community.

On November 25, 2021, Mark transitioned from this earthly journey to eternal peace and rest. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Brown; his father, Oakie Brown; grandparents, Ulysee and Cassie Brown; and two uncles, Willie Brown and Melvin Brown.

Cherished memories will forever remain with his beloved wife, Belinda Brown; his children, Marquez Brown, Domonique Henderson, Jamyia Brown, and Daja McCray all of Albany, GA; grandson, Derion McCray; aunt and uncles, Betty (Charles) Hilson of Houston, TX, Calvin (Yvonne) Brown of Lithonia, GA, and Milton Brown of Atlanta, GA; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who will always treasure the memory of his life.
