Obituary

Martha Jean Jackson was born in Early County, Georgia on December 23, 1952.  She was the daughter of the late Ruby Lee Jackson and Wayman Greer.

She received her formal education in the Early County School System, graduating from Early County High School.  During her school years, she actively participated in various student activities and was a ray of sunshine to teachers, classmates, and close friends.

At a young age, Martha accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  In later years after moving to Albany, she continued her Christian fellowship at West Town United Methodist Church. She dearly loved the Lord and remained prayerful throughout life's journey.

Martha was a loving and caring mother who looked well to the ways of her household.  As a homemaker, she diligently cared for the needs of her family even in the midst of health challenges.  She was blessed not only with children, but grandchildren and great grandchildren who held the key to her heart.  The family shared many happy times together enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

A very outgoing and jovial individual, Martha Jean had a big heart and a welcoming spirit.  Her home was a revolving door for family and friends and her table was always spread with tasty treats for them to enjoy.  She believed deeply in unconditional love and stood ready to help anyone in need—always with a smile.

On June 22, 2021, Martha Jean departed this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven siblings.

Fond memories will forever be cherished by her sister, Patricia Henderson; her children, Robert (Daphany) Price, Derick (Sharlene) Price, Shantrez Prize, and Tanya Price; grandchildren, Derrick, Robert Jr., Tavion, Bronze, Kaiyn, Derick Jr., Tyler, Devion, Der'Miya, Iva, and Ivan; great grandchildren, Derrick Jr., Dontae, Tyler, Raelyn, Bralyn, and Ka'Leiyha; two goddaughters, Tawanda  McKeever and Kenyona Thomas; a very special mate, Eugene  Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
