Martha Lee O'Neal was born June 6, 1928, in Dade City, Florida.  She was the beloved daughter of the Letha Dunson and Luke Louis Dunson.

She attended school in Blanton, Florida where she received her high school diploma.  She was a very talented student and excelled in all of her endeavors. From a very young age, she was nurtured in the Word of God.  As a youth, she began her journey with the Lord and never strayed away.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Charles O'Neal, Sr.  Their union endured through the years, was blessed with three loving children, and they enjoyed many happy years together.  As a wife and mother, she was a persistent, hardworking individual who ate not the bread of idleness.  For many years, she skillfully balanced her life as a homemaker with her employment in various venues, including the Napeford Community Charter School in Orlando, Florida where she worked as a paraprofessional for more than 10 years.

"Ms. Martha" and "Mother O'Neal" as she was affectionately called, was a very kind, good natured, and generous lady who was a joy to be around.  She was a selfless person who saw the beauty in all things, accepted everyone for who they were, and openly welcomed them into her heart and home.  She was considered by many as a wise and trusted counsel, a difference maker, and a strong but humble lady.  Mother O'Neal was a committed wife, a phenomenal mother, an extraordinary grandmother and great grandmother, a wonderful sister and aunt, a loving cousin, and an unforgettable friend.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly. In her quiet time, she enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cooking for family and friends who were most dear to her.

On April 23, 2020 at the hallowed age of 91, Mother O'Neal was called from labor to reward.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Charles O'Neal, Sr.

Loving memories of a life well lived will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Retha O'Neal of Albany, GA, Shirley Butler of Ocala, FL, and John Charles (Debbie) O'Neal, Jr. of  Apopka, FL; grandchildren, Mary (Ricky) Vaughn of Albany, GA, Raymond (Linda Sue) Capehart of Orlando, FL, Angela O'Neal of Jacksonville, FL, Gregory Capehart of Dade City, FL, and Tashawn O'Neal of Atlanta, GA; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
