Marvin Phillip King was born in Albany, Georgia on March 3, 1961.  He was the beloved son of Elder Mary Alice Carter and the late Shellman Water.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Morning Star Holiness Church.  He later united with Lewis Temple in Pittsview, Alabama, under the leadership of Pastor Curtis King.
