Obituary

Marvin Whitfield was born on April 18, 1956, in Albany, Georgia. He was the sixth child of the late Willie James and Clara Mae Whitfield.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County public school system, including Monroe High School where he was a strong and powerful runner on the track team. Marvin had enormous stamina and unusual speed, oftentimes kicking up puffs of debris and clouds of dust. He was truly an exceptional Tornado athlete.

Early in life, he confessed Christ as Lord and Savior. In later years, he heeded the Master's call into the ministry and proved to be a powerful man of God with in-depth biblical teaching. Blessed with the gift of prophecy, he traveled far and wide preaching, teaching, and prophesying to all who would hear; and what had been spoken came to pass. God's love for all mankind was manifested through Prophet Whitfield's daily walk and his witness. He was a kind and humble man and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. His faith and hope in God inspired many people along with his book that he co-authored, "Look What God Can Do!"

Believing that marriage was ordained by God, Prophet Whitfield took unto him his beloved Dorothy, and they became one flesh. Their union endured through the years and was favoured beyond measure as they honored their vows to love and cherish each other. Their love and devotion knew no boundaries and in 2017, they renewed their marriage vows, pledging their love and commitment to one another. Prophet Whitfield was a devoted and supportive provider, husband, and father who loved his family dearly.

Outspoken but kind, Prophet Whitfield had a servant's heart and enjoyed helping others. He had a special way of getting to know people and becoming a part of their lives. His friendliness and kindness to all people, his willingness o lend a helping hand, his love for his church and community, and his devotion to his family and friends are lasting tributes to the beauty of his heart and soul. To know him was to truly love him.

On Saturday, April 4, 2020, Prophet Whitfield answered the Lord's call to eternal rest.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Whitfield, Johnny Whitfield, and Harold Whitfield.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Prophetess Dorothy Whitefield; three children, Cory Rollins, Marstarshia Whitfield, and Martavia Whitfield; grandchildren, Rasheed Whitfield, Naturah Whitfield, and Adris-Allen Whitfield; great grandson, Khalid Spears; siblings, Minister Lisa (Ricky) Stephens, Carolyn Whitfield, Delores Whitfield, Larry Whitfield, a
