Obituary

Mary Daniels Ford, beloved daughter of the late Howard and Mae Thelma Daniels, was born in Sylvester, Georgia on October 14, 1959.

She was educated in the Worth County School System, graduating from Worth County High School. Hailing from a family that valued higher education, Mary was a talented young woman who valued education and took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. She attended Albany State College (University) where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. She later returned to her alma mater and was awarded the Masters of Nursing degree in 2006. Mary was raised in a Christian home where she was taught the Word of God and the importance of living a life of integrity, strong character, and loving kindness. At an early age, she professed her faith in Christ, promising the Lord that she would live her life dedicated to His purpose. Mary devoted herself faithfully to serving the Lord at Church of the Living God. Through the years, she remained steadfast and unfaltering in her Christian walk.

She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved Pastor Albert L. Ford, Sr. They shared a love that endured through the years and a devotion to one another that was strong and unshakeable. As a pastor's wife, she proved to be a true anchor and helpmate to her husband. In her role as the church's first lady, she unbosomed freely, advised justly, assisted readily, and labored patiently. She was lauded by many as "a molder, a shaper, a builder, and a layer of strong foundations." She was a shining example of humility and respect, and God's love for all mankind was manifested through her deeds and actions.

Mary worked hard to consistently pursue excellence in her 35-year nursing career. She was an altruistic individual who looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness. For 28 years, she practiced in a variety of nursing positions at numerous medical facilities. In later years, her practical work experience was put to task in the classroom as a Nursing Instructor at Albany Technical College. Her persistence, wisdom, skills, and foresight encouraged and enabled students to maximize their fullest potential and abilities.

On August 19, 2020, Almighty God in his infinite wisdom, removed from this life the soul of First Lady Mary Daniels Ford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Siders.

She leaves to celebrate the legacy of her life a devoted husband, Pastor Albert L. Ford, Sr.; her children, Katrina (Erick) Cook, Ericka Polk, Albert L. (Porsha)Ford, Jr., Angela Polk, and Victoria Ford; siblings, Willie (Helga) Siders, Louise (Eddie) Myers, Calvin (Patricia) Siders, Patricia Hooks, Beatrice (Jonathan) Roberts, Johnny (Linda) Daniels, Sharon Richardson (Willie Byrd), and Cynthia (Anthony) Davis; grandchildren, Desman Cook, SaDarius Shingles, DaMorris Shingles, KyTavius Shingles, Alijah Moore, Lawrence Ford, Serenity Greer, Jalyah Ford, Kyree Bradley, and Jordan Ford; great grandson, Mason Shingles; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
