Mary Lee Fudge-Butler , beloved daughter of the late Rose Lee and Will Fudge, was born in Lee County, Georgia on February 9, 1937.

During the early years of her life, she attended school in the Lee County and Dougherty County Public School Systems.

As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the McAfee Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lee County.  She was a faithful servant for many years and worked willingly wherever needed.

Mary was a persistent, hardworking woman who ate not the bread of idleness.  For numerous years, she skillfully balanced her life as a homemaker with her employment in the Dougherty County School System. She was a loyal and dedicated employee who gave her best a whatever she did.  She retired after rendering more than 20 years of service.  Mary was a very conscientious and diligent individual who liked to keep busy.  After retirement, she began a new phase in her working career at the Windfield Plantation and worked tirelessly for more than nine years.

"Mae Lee" as she was affectionately called, was a very kind, good natured, and generous lady who was a joy to be around.  She was a selfless person who saw the beauty in all things; accepted everyone for who they were; and openly welcomed family and friends into her heart and home.  She was considered by many as a wise and trusted counsel, a difference maker, and a strong but humble person who will be missed dearly.

On March 2, 2019, Mae Lee rested from her earthly labor and moved to a better home.

Loving memories will be forever cherished by her children, Fredearia (Tenk) Reyes and Tony Teemer both of Albany, GA; two sisters, Louise Peaks of Albany, GA and Rosia Mae Jordan of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Shunique (Tasha) Daniels, Darrick (Breon) Teemer, Shatoryia (Toria) Reyes, Mariah (Desi) Reyes, and Tony Jr. ; three great grandchildren, Jaquis Reyes, Eric McGowan, and Alexander McGowan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
