IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Lee
Jackson Foster
October 25, 1946 – March 30, 2019
Mary Lee Jackson Foster , beloved daughter of the late Romer Jackson, Sr. and Alice Hall Brown, was born in Albany, Georgia on October 25, 1946.
A life-long resident of Albany, she received her formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School where she graduated in the class of 1964. While at Monroe, she was active in numerous school organizations and activities.
Mary grew up in a loving home and was taught to love the Lord early in life. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a faithful servant. In later years, she united with Christ Harvest Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor B. L. Richardson. She was a faithful, dedicated member who willingly served in numerous capacities wherever needed, until she became ill. Even in the midst of declining health, she remained prayerful, steadfast, unmovable—always giving God the glory.
She was united in holy matrimony to Josh Foster, Sr. Their union endured through the years and was blessed with a loving family. Mary was domestic at heart—unwavering in her dedication foster a Christian home filled with love, joy, and strong values. As a wife, mother, and homemaker, she ate not the bread of idleness; she was constant in her efforts to care for the needs of her family.
Mary lived a life of kindness and compassion tempered with a loving spirit. She had a servant's heart and felt most comfortable when helping others. The joys of her life were her family and friends whom she loved dearly and delighted in spending time with them. She was a selfless person who saw the beauty in all things, accepted everyone for who they were, and openly welcomed them into her heart and home. You couldn't know her without being inspired by her love and devotion to her family, friends, church, and community. In her leisure, she enjoyed an array of activities, including reading, puzzles, and cooking.
On March 30, 2019, Mary's earthly journey ended and she transitioned from our midst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Josh Foster, Sr.; and her brother, Willie C. Hall.
