Mary Retta White Boone was born December 30, 1935, in Newton, Georgia.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Henrietta McCohee and Jake White.

During the early years of her life, she received her formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County and was active in numerous school functions and activities.

At a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  Mary's faith made her resilient and enabled her to live a life full of meaning and purpose—always giving God the glory.

Mary was a loving and caring mother who looked well to the ways of her household through her employment at Firestone.  She worked tirelessly over the years and was a model employee until the plant closed.  As a homemaker, she was meticulous, full of energy, and well organized—everything had its place.  She was a selfless, giving mother who always had a smile even when times were tough.

Mary was blessed not only with children and bonus children, but grandchildren and great grandchildren who were a source of joy and pride in her life.  The family shared many happy and precious moments together and truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

Often described as a good natured and generous lady with a big heart, Mary was a pleasure to be around.  She believed deeply in unconditional love, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and delighted in helping and caring for others.  Her doors were always open, and her table was always spread for family, friends, and even strangers.  Mary's friendliness and kindness to all people are lasting tributes to the beauty of her heart and soul.  She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

On Monday, July 5, 2021, Mary  peacefully transitioned to eternal rest.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Flora Fontop.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her former husband, Relaford Boone, Jr.; her children, Patricia Clarke, Reliford (Jeanette) Boone IV, Sharon Boone, and Cedrick (Bobbie) Boone; two bonus children, Christopher (Cynthia) Boone and Melissa Boone; a very special and devoted granddaughter, Lakina (Eric) Dukes; goddaughter, Betty Young; god-niece, Cheryl Jones; 26 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
