Mary Monique Salters, beloved daughter of Diane Salters and the late James Tinsley, Jr., was born in Albany, Georgia on February 12, 1981.

Growing up in Albany, she attended the public schools of Dougherty County and graduated from Dougherty High School in 2000.

During the early years of her life, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the New Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Acree, Georgia. In later years, she regularly attended church with her mother at Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary was an extremely independent young woman who spent much of her time and energy caring for the needs of her family. For numerous years, she was employed at Cagle's in Camilla, Georgia. However, her compassionate nature and willingness to care for others stirred her to become a CNA—a profession that she dearly loved. As an employee of Home Health Care Services of Albany, she made a difference in the lives of many people and created special moments that will long be remembered.

Spending time with family and friends, especially her children Alexis and Sebastian, was very important to Mary; and she always looked forward to events that brought them all together. She was a free-spirited individual who always had the interests of others at heart, who had a style and flair of her own, and who had a circle of people who were the recipients of a loving and lasting friendship.

Mary peacefully departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of her devoted mother, Diane Salters; loving children, Alexis Salters and Sebastian Thomas; siblings, Charles Johnson and Latonya Salters; grandmother, Mary Johnson; aunts and uncles, Lillian Sibley, Leslie Johnson, and Leroy Beeks of Albany, GA, Leola Beeks of Cordele, GA, Ann James of Virginia, and Thomas (Patricia) Salters and John Salters of New Jersey; a favorite cousin, Sandra Johnson of Albany, GA; and a host of other cousins and friends.
