IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Lou
Shannon
November 2, 1959 – May 1, 2021
Mary Lou Shannon, daughter of the late Willie Fred Shannon and Ola B. Toombs, was born November 7, 1959, in Albany, Georgia.
She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System and was active in various student organizations and activities. At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained prayerful throughout life's journey.
Mary was a meticulous homemaker and caregiver who was diligent in meeting the needs of her family. She had a servant's heart and felt most comfortable when helping others; no one was ever looked upon as a stranger. Family and friends were among her greatest cherished gifts and she delighted in spending time with them. Mary was love in action and a fierce proponent for truth, honestly, and doing things right and in order. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew and loved her dearly.
On May 1, 2021, Mary transitioned from this earthly life to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved niece, Latresa Williams.
Loving memories will be forever cherished by her devoted children, Kimberly (James) Davis, Kenta Shannon, Tabitha Shannon, and Marcus Shannon; grandchildren, Christopher, Kentravious, James II, Ty'Tianna, Janareus, Dyamond, Renta, Adontae, Superior, Biniya, Jontavius, Jaylyn, Jamarcus, and Jordon; great grandchildren, Caleah, Calah, Cayden, and Xenovia; one sister, Irene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
