Mary Walls Shead, beloved daughter of the late J. W. "Buddy" Walls and Mary Jones Walls, was born in Sylvester, Georgia on August 31, 1953.

A life-long resident of Albany, she attended the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Dougherty High School.

From a very early age, Mary was nurtured in the Word of God.  As a youth, she began her fellowship with Christ at New Provisor Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Parker.

Among all of Mary's accomplishments, being a mother to Roderic was her greatest source of joy.  She was a loving and caring mother who worked untiringly at Flint Industrial for numerous years to provide unconditionally for her family.   When she wasn't working, Mary could be found relaxing and spending time with family and friends.

Mary had a servant's heart and felt most content when helping others.  She was a very kind, gentle-hearted person who embraced life's experiences with open arms; who prided herself in having relationships full of love and respect; and whose engaging personality captured the hearts of all who knew her.

On Thursday, February 21, 2019, Mary departed this earthly life and transitioned to her eternal home.  Though she is absent from our midst, she will forever remain in our hearts.

Precious memories will forever be cherished by her son, Roderic (Chakecia) Walls; three grandsons, Roderic Walls, Jr, Dante Walls, and Keshawn Walls; his godsister, Jacqueline Gilyard; sisters-in-law, Linda Shead and Jennifer Fallin; nieces, Lashonna Walls, Lasherin Edwards, Rebecca Mays, Stephanie Sibley, and Tina Shead; and a most of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
