Obituary

Mary Jo Wester was born in Albany, Georgia on February 8, 1989.   She was the beloved daughter of the late George Wester, Jr. and Mary Ann Wester.

She received her primary and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System.  graduating from Dougherty Comprehensive High School.  Mary Jo, as she was endearingly called by family and friends, was a very jubilant young woman who kept those around her motivated and full of joy.  She ttook advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow while actively participating in various student organizations and activities.

Very early in life, she expressed her belief in God and her love for Him.  Psalm 23 guided her as she journeyed through life.  She attended worship services at Cornerstone Ministries and Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary Jo was a genuinely good-hearted, humble individual who greeted each day with a smile and a positive attitude.  She was a kind and caring young lady who was sensitive to the needs of others with health concerns.  Even in the midst of life's challenges and adversities, she was always grateful for every good thing that came her way. Family and friends were among her greatest cherished gifts and she truly treasured each moment spent with them.  Her leisure time activities included coloring, working puzzles, and watching her favorite television shows.  Mary Jo was blessed to have enjoyed family outings, gatherings, and vacations in Ocala, Florida.  She was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call daughter, sister, niece, cousin, or friend.  Truly, she was an angel on earth who left an indelible impression on the hearts of many people whose lives she touched.

On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, Mary Jo transitioned from this earthly life to forever be with the Lord in Glory.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Daniel Wester; and her grandparents, Sallie Mae Moses, Cecil Tucker, and Zella Wester.

Cherished memories of a life well lived will forever remain with her loving and devoted caregiver,  Natoya M. Hill; her sister, Vanessa Wester; aunts and uncles, Bell Moses McGrady (Leon), Katie Moses, Lillie Moses, Willie Moses, and Raymond Moses all of Albany, GA, Emanuel Wester (Tina) of Atlanta, GA, and William Wester (Paula) of Japan; great aunts, Mildred Gadson and Zena Mae Wester; ; and a host of cousins, ARC of Southwest Georgia, extended family, and friends.
