Matthew Sanders was born in Albany, Georgia on October 29, 1997,  to  Stephanie Roberts Sanders and Barry Sanders, Sr.

He attended the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 2017.   While at Monroe, he was actively involved in numerus school activities.

Matthew was a persistent, independent individual who worked untiringly for numerous years at the Albany Fish Company.  While there, he cultivated an array of skills and services; met countless new and interesting people; and developed many lasting friendships with his co-workers and supervisors.

A very enthusiastic and outgoing individual, Matthew was and outgoing individual who marched to the beat of his own drum.  He was free-spirited, strong willed, and oftentimes the life of the crowd.  He had an endless reservoir of love for his family and friends, and his one-of-a-kind personality kept them on their toes.  Matthew enjoyed life and all that it had to offer.  He was a loving son, devoted brother, caring uncle, thoughtful nephew, committed cousin, and loyal friend who was dearly loved and will be  deeply missed.  In his leisure, he enjoyed listening to music by Longway and often referred to himself by that name.

On February 4, 2022, Matthew transitioned from this earthly life.  Although his departure has left a void in our hearts, we are  truly grateful to have had him in our lives.

Loving memories will forever remain with his parents, Stephanie Roberts Sanders and Barry (Felecia) Sanders; siblings, Latoya   Jackson, Shanequa Roberts, Latashia Roberts, Lakesha Sanders, Marcus Sanders, and Barry Sanders, Jr.; grandmothers, Doris Sanders and Thelma Roberts; aunts and uncles, Gwendolyn George, Gregory Roberts, Isrett Roberts, Patrina Roberts, Shedrick Roberts, Lashauna Roberts, Timothy Sanders, Melvin Sanders, Larry Sanders, Sr., and Herman Sanders; cousins, Terrell Roberts, James Warren, Russell Roberts, Kenneth George, Kenise George, Rico Roberts, Semaje Johnson, Hope Johnson, Latoria Roberts, Ashley Roberts, Jazmine Roberts, Gregory Roberts, Jr., Keshawn Vamper, Shedrick Roberts, Jr.; and a host of extended family and friends.
