IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melvin Jerome
Ingram
November 20, 1959 – April 21, 2021
Melvin Jerome Ingram was born November 20, 1959, in Albany, Georgia. He was the son of Doris Newsome Ingram and the late John Ingram.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. While at Monroe, he was a member of the Golden Tornados football team, excelled academically, and received numerous athletic awards.
Melvin accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend H. C. Boyd. In later years, he continued his Christian journey at Third Kioke Baptist Church where he remained until his demise.
"Bald Head" as he was affectionately called, was a very unique young man who greatly impacted everyone around him. While employed as a cook at Carter's Drive-In and Morrison Cafeteria, he worked hard to pursue excellence as he created flavorful and mouth-watering dishes.
Melvin was always at the center of his family and looked forward to events that brought them together in love and harmony. He had a passion for grilling and was known as the "grill master" of his family. Melvin had a genuine concern for the people in his life. His gigantic personality, sense of humor, and "trash talking" kept him at center stage. He was a genuinely good person, and one of the best husbands, fathers, brothers, and "Uncs" anyone could ever hope for. Melvin will long be remembered for his love of family, generosity, and words of encouragement. In his leisure, he enjoyed listening to music and savoring the beauty of the earth.
On April 21, 2021, Melvin transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Mary Alice Oliver, Clinton Cuttlif, Jr., and Michael Thomas; and his aunt, Cora Henderson.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Juanita Ingram of Albany, GA; his mother, Doris Ingram of Albany, GA; stepsons, Fred B. Tony III and Gregory A. Toney of Albany, GA; siblings, Gloria (Ricky) Boyd, Bertha (Samuel) Thomas, Cathy Ingram (Chris Carter), Debbie Chambers, Rufus (Kimberly) Ingram, and Cedrick Ingram all of Albany, GA; aunt, Helena Britton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friend s.
