Melvin Eugene Quimby was born in Camilla, Georgia on June 27, 1961. He was the beloved son of the late Annie Mae Terry-Reynolds and Douglas Quimby.

Melvin attended school in Dougherty County Georgia graduating from Dougherty High School in 1979. He then served his country by joining the U. S. Army in 1981 where he later earned an honorable discharge.

Melvin gave his Life to Christ at a very early age and joined Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Fowler. He enjoyed preaching and teaching God's Word. He also loves singing, laughing, cooking and having a good time with his family. He was one of four founding members of One Call Changes It All Ministries that began in March of 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents: stepfather; Robert Reynolds; grandparents Willie and Ethel Terry; brother, Robert Reynolds III; sister; Rosalind Reynolds Nelson. Melvin was surrounded by his loved ones as he transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday March 4, 2025.

Melvin will surely be missed by his loving and devoted wife, Tracy Quimby who he was happily married to for 11 years. His children: Jamael Quimby, Javonte Quimby, Melteasla Quimby, Melvin Quimby, Jr, Kimbreia Green, Harmoni Williams, Darius (Victoria) Williams, Lonnie (Jaquiesha) Williams, Juaqes (Adrian) Polk and Eugene Smoak; His brothers: Fredrick (Reney) Quimby, Douglas Quimby, Darron Quimby, Daryl (Pinkey) Jones and Joseph Jr; His sisters: Teasla Reynolds, Reketha (Adam) Huckaby, Rydeidre Reynolds, Joangela (Albert) Stephens, Rosa Ramsey, Van (Thomas) Merrell and Vanessa Dart; Fourteen (14) grandchildren, Goddaughter Tiffany Floyd and a devoted longtime friend Terry Jones. A host of aunts, uncle's nieces, nephews, relatives and an abundance of friends.
