IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Leon
Bell
September 9, 1963 – April 24, 2023
Michael Leon Bell was born September 9, 1963, in Terrell County, Georgia. He was the son of Geraldine Howzine Bell and the late
Major Lee Bell II.
Growing up in Albany, Michael attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Albany High School. Endearingly called "Black Mike" by friends and fellow classmates.
Michael was a man of faith and belief in Christ Jesus. He attended Metropolitan Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend Dr. Joseph Howard. He dearly loved the Lord and remained steadfast in Christian service—always giving God the glory and praise.
During his early teen years, Mike provided lawn care services for families in his community. Over the years as his interest in landscaping and lawn maintenance heightened, he became an avid, topnotch one-man lawn care specialist. He took great pride in the services he provided and worked diligently to meet the needs of his clients and to ensure that his work was flawless.
Mike enjoyed life, loved his family and friends, and he never met a stranger. His sense of humor, playful and joking personality, and dazzling smile drew people to him and made him a part of their lives. To know Mike was to love Mike and he was loved by many.
In his leisure, he enjoyed attending sports events, eating at different restaurants, and visiting family and friends.
On Monday, April 24, 2023, our beloved brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend quietly transitioned from the busy walk of life to his heavenly home. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by four siblings, Diane Bell, Melvin Bell, Frederick Bell, and Mark Bell.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his mother, Geraldine Howzine Bell; siblings, Sabrina Bell, Major L. Bell III, and Eddie (Melissa) Bell all of Albany, GA; aunts and uncles, Gladys Keller, Elizabeth Miller, John, Bell Alton Bell, and Charlie Roy Bell; special friends, Nancy Presley and Bernice Burke; god-family, Detra Lockett, Latricia Ealey, Patrick Ealey, and Dreginald Ealey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Jackson Street and West Highland Avenue family, and friends.
