Obituary

Michael Carl Reddick was born February 25, 1965, in Albany, Georgia.  He was the loving son of Annie Reddick and the late Rufus Reddick.

He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Albany High School.  Michael was an exceptionally talented and perceptive young man who developed a passion for the arts during his early school years.  His deep passion for learning spurred him to seek advanced educational opportunities that would further cultivate his creative abilities.   He attended Pasadena City College in  California where he earned an Associate degree in Communications Art and Design.  Michael later matriculated at DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia and was awarded the Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts.

From a very young age, Michael was nurtured in the Word of God.  He was a man of faith and belief in Christ Jesus and faithfully attended Community   Spiritual Bible Study Church.  Over the years, he remained steadfast and prayerful—always giving God the praise.

Michael was a very conscientious individual whose creative ability, unique style, and incisive designs spilled over from the classroom into his professional career.  For numerous years, his work as a Graphic Information Specialist with Southern Utility Company brought wit, whimsy, narrative, and skilled drawing to commercial art design.  Michael thought outside of the box and worked diligently to ensure that his work was on the cutting edge.  His professional ethics and expertise in the field were unmatched and carried him successfully throughout his career.

Devoted son, unfailing brother, awesome uncle, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Michael embraced life with open arms.  His gigantic smile, engaging personality, and common logic touched the lives of family and friends in a very special way.  Even in the midst of challenges and adversity, he always remained positive and patient.  Michael loved listening to music and CARS, but what he loved most was spending time with family.  He will be dearly missed.

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Michael transitioned to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow, pain, and death.   In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four uncles and six aunts.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted mother, Annie Reddick; brothers, William (Tan) Reddick, Rufus (Elnora) Reddick, Jr., Bernard Reddick, Curtis Reddick, and Anthony Reddick all of Atlanta, GA; a god-sister, Roxie (Steven) Webb; aunts and uncles, John (Lacie) Reddick, Jr. of Saint  Petersburg, FL,, Benjamin (Joanne) Reddick, Sr. of Orlando, FL, Mattie Mae Reddick Range of Albany, GA, and Lucibelle (Joseph) Green of Springfield, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
