Michelle Smith, beloved daughter of the late J. B. and Annie Lou Jones, was born September 29, 1966, in Albany, Georgia.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System.  Throughout school, she was a very insightful, energetic young lady and actively participated in various student organizations and activities.

At a very early age, Michelle accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and began her life-long journey of Christian stewardship.  As she continued her walk with the Lord, she united with Directly Connected Christian Center in 2003, under the leadership of Pastor Victor Harris, Sr.  She served faithfully in numerous capacities until her demise.  Her faith in God kept her spiritually strong and she never ceased to give God the glory for the many blessings in her life.

After meeting and becoming totally captivated by the love of her life, Michelle and Anthony" Tony" Smith were joined in holy matrimony on September 29, 1996.  They shared a love that knew no boundaries and was unshakeable.  She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an awesome grandmother who supported her family in all their endeavors and created many lasting memories.  Ever the striver, she was most diligent in caring for the needs of her family through her employment with the Dougherty County School System as an attendance clerk at Dougherty Comprehensive High School.  She was a loyal, dedicated employee who rendered years of unparalleled service.

Known to have a nurturing and caring spirit, Michelle was a strong but gentle lady with a heart of gold.  She was a trusted friend and confidant, accepted everyone for who they were, and openly welcomed family and friends into her heart and home.  She enjoyed listening to music and dancing.  Oftentimes, she could be found on the dance floor showing off her "special" moves.  Michelle believed deeply in unconditional and truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.

On October 21. 2021, Michell departed this earthly life at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Deborah Jones and Eugene Jones.

Precious memories will forever be treasured by devoted husband, Anthony Smith; four children, Latasha (Audrea) Allen, Demetrius Jones, Jamie (Freneshia) Jones, Sr., and Terrance Smith all of Albany, GA; siblings, Martha Knight, Dorothy Mack, Annie Sheppard, Janet Jones, Linda Jones, Barbara Grimes, Michael (Cami) Jones, Johnny B. Jones, Thomas Jones, and James Jones; grandchildren, Braylen, Brooklyn, Jayden, Jamie Jr., Kennedy, and Trenton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
