IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mildred Louise
David Ousley
March 28, 1940 – June 17, 2025
Mildred Louise David Ousley was born on March 28, 1940, in Parrott, Georgia. She was the third of seven children in the union of the late Emmett Davis and Bessie Grier Davis.
She was educated in the Terrell County School Systems, graduating from Carver High School. Throughout school, Mildred was a very considerate, attentive young lady with a yearning to be of service and help others. She continued her education at Albany Area Vocational School (Albany Technical College) and earned a diploma in Nursing.
Very early in life, Mildred was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She was a devoted member of Jackson Grove Baptist Church where she freely assisted wherever needed. Her unwavering faith and trust in God guided her life and allowed her to be an example for all who encountered her.
Mildred was united in holy matrimony to Sammy Lee Ousley who preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who looked well to the ways of her household and not the bread of idleness. For over 24 years, she worked tirelessly as a Nursing Assistant at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Daily she poured herself into her work, caring for her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion. She had a natural gift for serving and making a difference in the lives of many.
Endearingly called "Ted" by family and friends, Mildred had a zest for life in everything that she did. She had a servant's heart and took great pride in using her God-given talents to help others. Her home was a safe haven for many and her doors were always open to anyone in need. Mildred enjoyed sewing and cooking for family, and she looked forward to spending time with family and friends—especially her grandchildren who were a source of joy and pride in her life. She created memories with her family that will last a lifetime.
On June 17, 2025, Mildred transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest with the Lord. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Louise Ousley Crawford; and three siblings, Jolly Prince, Mattie Davis, and Augusta Davis.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl K. Ousley Pennyman and Anita D. (Robert) Hope; grandchildren Kenneth G. Ousley, Kelvin Crawford, Jr., and Santiyanna Ousley; siblings, Emma Downs, Callue Davis Edwards, and ST (Alice) Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
