Obituary

Minnie Lee Young, daughter of the late O. W. Flewellen and Mattie Lee Stuckey-Flewellen, was born in Worth County, Georgia on November 2, 1945. She received her formal education in the public schools of Worth County.

At a very early age, Minnie began her journey with the lord at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Lockett Walker. She was blessed with the gift of song and utilized her God-given talent as a faithful member of the senior choir. She loved praising God and being very active in the church helping in any and everyway that she could. She was currently a member of Victory Crossings Church under the leadership of Bishop Derrick Mike.

She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband Arthur Lee Young whom she spent 30 years with. Minnie diligently cared for the needs of her family and friends. Minnie worked at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as a Nutritionist for 38 years.

In life, Minnie wore many different hats. From baking homemade goods to making beautiful floral arrangements and using many of her gifts and talents and the Kity Flea Market. She was talented in many areas which brought joy to the lives of the ones that she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

On Thursday July 24, 2025, she quietly transitioned to her eternal home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Young.

Minnie was proceeded in death by her sisters and brothers Lillie Pearl (Henry) Reese; Aaron (Florine) Flewellen, Theron (Betty) Flewellen; Nathaniel Flewellen; James (Shirley) Flewellen.

Minnie was dearly loved, and her memory will forever be cherished by her biological daughter Pamela (Willie) Bennett; Three children by marriage Arthur (Michelle) Young JR, Eric (Daffney)Young, Monica Young; Four siblings, Edward (Carolyn) Flewellen, Mae Teemer, Adolph (Patricia) Flewellen, Louvenia (Rev. Earnest-Deceased) Bryant; Six grandchildren Tanita (Dennis)Perry; Four great grandchildren Branon Bennett, Asjia Aikens-Colmon; God Mother Essie Williams; God Son Timothy (Contessa) Bryant. Aunts and uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
